In the midst of a world-wide recession, the need for jobs has never been greater. The business as mission movement is expanding rapidly as globalization allows Christian business people to develop companies around the world. This model requires some initial investment of capital but no long-term subsidies.
By building trust with local people through business relationships, “business missionaries” establish a natural connection point with their community through employees, suppliers, vendors and customers. This can provide even greater opportunities to model the Christian life with people who we may never have the occasion to meet in local churches.
AN INVITATION
We invite you to join us as we establish sustainable platforms for ministry, engaged in transformational development of those caught in the grip of poverty. Through the integration of Christianity into profitable production of marketable goods and services, we can use our gifts and talents for business to fulfill the Great Commission (Mt. 28:19) in the spirit of the Great Commandment (Luke 10:27).
CREATING OPPORTUNITIES
These businesses will sustain employees and empower individuals and families to break out of the mold of dependence that has permeated their society. All business ventures will create opportunities for people to learn new skills that will, in turn, provide the ability for them to profitably and ethically compete in the marketplace.
SUSTAINABLE PROGRESS
MMW businesses work in relationship with community churches to provide opportunities for leaders to model servant leadership, ethical practices, and moral uprightness. Given the rampant corruption that exists throughout the fabric of the marketplace and government, there is enormous potential in teaching ethical interaction as a means to establish sustainable progress and greater prosperity within the culture.
PROFITABLE ORGANIZATIONS
MMW businesses are ethically profitable which is central to sustainability. If we aren’t careful, we can simply transfer dependence on the government to dependence on the Church. In order to establish a truly sustainable model, we train and equip entrepreneurs and employees to create profitable organizations. We place an emphasis on leadership development. Our goal is that all of our businesses will become self-sustaining within 24 months.
